The difference between the MIA Femtech™ and Preservé™ methods lies in the extent of change, the procedure itself, and the underlying philosophy of the approach to the female body. Both techniques belong to the so-called tissue-preserving group – methods that preserve breast tissue, minimize intervention in the body, and emphasize a natural result. However, they differ in who they are intended for and the type of transformation they allow. Both procedures take only 15 minutes, require no general anesthesia—only local anesthesia—and do not require a clinic stay.

MIA Femtech™ is currently the most advanced method of breast augmentation – yet it is also the safest and most strictly controlled in terms of surgeon and clinic certification. Thanks to this rigorous approval system, the highest quality of procedure is ensured worldwide, along with a high level of client satisfaction with the results.

This method is an ideal choice especially for women who would never undergo traditional augmentation – whether due to concerns about anesthesia, scarring, or an overly artificial appearance. With MIA, the implant is inserted through a small 2 cm incision hidden in the armpit, without any scalpel intervention in the breast tissue and leaving no scars on the breasts. This small incision in the armpit leaves a hidden scar, so your breasts remain completely untouched. Moreover, with proper care, even this inconspicuous armpit scar disappears completely over time.

Preservé™ represents a more advanced, safer, and significantly gentler technique compared to traditional augmentation, making it ideal for women seeking a greater change or increased volume. It is a suitable choice for those who considered traditional surgery but prefer a more modern and less invasive approach.
Although the procedure requires the use of a scalpel and an incision on the breast, it is performed in a modern way – with a small 2.5 cm incision in the inframammary fold. This scar is very discreet, heals well, and over time almost blends with the natural lines of the body.
Unlike traditional surgery, the entire process is much gentler on breast tissue and does not require general anesthesia, which increases comfort and reduces risks associated with recovery.

Recovery after MIA is exceptionally quick and gentle. The procedure is nearly painless – most women return to their normal routine within 24 hours. During the first week, it is recommended to avoid heavy physical exertion and lifting, but normal daily activities without strain are possible almost immediately.

After two weeks, it is usually possible to fully return to sports and physical activities, including exercise, running, or gym workouts. Thanks to the small incision in the armpit and the absence of intervention in breast tissue, healing is very smooth and comfortable, without pain. Swelling and bruising are minimal, and most women do not need painkillers.

Preservé™ also offers a significantly gentler recovery compared to traditional augmentation. Pain is lower, and the overall healing process is calmer, though it depends on the extent of the procedure and implant size. Return to normal routine is possible within a few days, but physical exertion should be limited for approximately 4 weeks.

Full physical activity and sports are usually recommended after 4–6 weeks, allowing the tissues enough time to stabilize and the implant to settle properly. The scar in the inframammary fold heals very well and almost disappears over time.

For comparison (applies to both methods): Traditional breast augmentation usually requires at least 6 weeks of restricted activity and is associated with more pain, longer time off work, and more frequent use of painkillers.

The MIA Femtech™ method uses a completely contact-free implant insertion, during which the surgeon does not touch the implant with their hands at all. The insertion is performed using a special tool – the patented MIA Femtech inserter – which ensures a perfectly sterile environment throughout the procedure. The implant is therefore not compressed or deformed during the procedure, as is common in traditional augmentation. This gentle approach significantly minimizes the risk of contamination, capsular contracture, or biofilm formation. Thanks to this, MIA shows an extremely low complication rate and is associated with a very strict certification system.

Preservé™ uses so-called “no-touch” techniques that significantly limit contact with the implant through modern tools, such as the Keller funnel or other sterile inserters. The surgeon manipulates the implant minimally during the procedure, although some contact does occur – for example, when preparing the pocket or inserting the implant. While strict sterile conditions are maintained, this method cannot be fully compared to the completely contact-free MIA Femtech™ technique, which relies exclusively on instrument-only insertion without any direct touch. The result is a significantly safer and more modern approach than traditional augmentation, though it is not a 100% contact-free solution like MIA.

The MIA Femtech™ method exclusively uses the so-called Diamond implant – a symmetrical shape specifically designed for this minimally invasive technique. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that even with a seemingly smaller volume (100–195 cc), it provides up to 25% greater projection than standard implants of the same size due to its shape. In other words, a woman achieves a visibly greater effect with a smaller and lighter implant. This advantage is especially appreciated by clients with a delicate physique, an active lifestyle, or those who do not want to burden their body with unnecessary weight. A smaller volume also means less pressure on the tissues, resulting in higher comfort over the long term.

These are top-of-the-line implants. The smooth-silk surface for MIA Femtech™ is biocompatible with the female body and designed to reduce the risk of inflammatory or allergic reactions while promoting smooth, problem-free healing. It is the pinnacle of implant technology.

MIA augmentations worldwide show virtually zero occurrence of serious complications. Clinical data confirm the exceptional safety of this method – with a 0% incidence of capsular contracture, ruptures, infections, or sensory disturbances, which are much more common with traditional methods.

Compared to MIA Femtech™, the Motiva Preservé™ method uses new-generation classic ergonomic implants, which are equally high-quality but have a more traditional design and a wider range of volumes – from 95 to 330 cc. Preservé is therefore more suitable for women who want a more pronounced and noticeable breast enlargement – with the possibility of up to four cup sizes – and expect a fuller result while maintaining natural softness and shape.

While MIA offers a “more for less” effect – a smaller implant, less weight, but a greater visual result, plus the material and surface make it the safest implant.
